The Egg Adds Two New Concerts

A pair of new shows has been added to the American Roots & Branches concert series at The Egg in Albany. Tickets are currently available to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, December 24.

The multi-talented Sarah Jarosz has become the fastest rising star in acoustic music, wrapping her supple vocals around original songs that transcend the boundaries between traditional and contemporary folk. Her latest album, Build Me Up From Bones, is nominated for two Grammy Awards including Best American Roots Song and Best Folk Album. She will be accompanied by Alex Hargreaves on fiddle and Nathaniel Smith on cello.

Sublime vocalist Cassandra Wilson takes a unique approach to her repertoire, incorporating elements of vintage blues, country and folk music into her music. In support of her “Black Sun” project, she’ll be accompanied by the band Harriet Tubman featuring guitarist Brandon Ross, percussionist J.T. Lewis and bassist Melvin Gibbs.
