SaratogaArtsFest Announces Headline Concert

SaratogaArtsFest has announced the signature event for its 2014 festival, which is scheduled to take place at various locations throughout Saratoga Springs from June 12-15. Pop singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik will step into the spotlight at Skidmore College’s Zankel Music Center on Friday, June 13.

Sheik first grabbed the national spotlight with his 1996 debut single, “Barely Breathing,” which has since been heard on the soundtrack of TV shows from “Glee” to “Girls.” His biggest success was as a Grammy and Tony Award-winner composer for the hit Broadway musical, “Spring Awakening.” His latest project – a musical stage adaptation of “American Psycho,” Bret Easton Ellis’ novel about a soulless yuppie serial killer at large in 1980s Manhattan – opened last week in London’s West End.

Tickets for Duncan Sheik’s concert at Skidmore are slated to go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, January 21. Details TBA.
