The Turtle Island Quartet with Tierney Sutton

The winter solstice draws near, and the nights grow longer…

And to celebrate the season, jazz innovators Turtle Island Quartet and sublime singer Tierney Sutton team up and take the stage at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall at 7:30pm on Friday (December 6) with their holiday concert, “A Solstice Celebration: The Festival of Lights.”

The concert showcases the enduring global music of the Festival of Lights, including songs of Chanukah, the music of India’s Diwali, old English carols of the 16th century, Vince Guaraldi’s soundtrack to the beloved “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” the music of Joni Mitchell and reimaginings of a few classical gems that have become indelibly tied to the holiday season.
