MUSIC: “Art Songs from Latin America” @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall, Albany. Mezzo-soprano Anna Tonna and pianist Max Lifchitz join forces to explore the diverse art song repertoire from throughout Latin America performing works by composers from Argentina, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. 7pm. $8; $4 students & seniors.

MUSIC: Eric Erikson @ the Lion’s Den at the Red Lion Inn, Stockbridge. Original songs and classic folk from the ’70s. 8pm. FREE.

READING: Douglas Bauer @ UAlbany Campus Center’s Assembly Hall, Albany. The fiction writer and essayist reads from his new book is “What Happens Next? Matters of Life and Death,” a collection of memory-rich, deeply-felt personal essays on the meaning of human existence, from his boyhood on an Iowa farm to intimations of mortality in middle age. 8pm. FREE. Also a free seminar at 4:15pm at UAlbany Science Library’s Standish Room.

THEATER: “Polaroid Stories” @ Skidmore College’s Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater, Saratoga Springs. Directed by Eunice Ferreira, Naomi Iizuka’s play is a visceral blend of classical mythology and real life stories told by street kids. 8pm. $12; $8 students & seniors. Through October 30.

MUSIC: The Albany Area Senior Orchestra @ William K. Sanford Libary, Loudonville. Pop tunes, folk selections and classical favorites. 2pm. FREE.
