MUSIC: Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt @ the Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. Lovett and Hiatt have been touring together periodically since 1989, delivering one of the most compelling and spontaneous concerts on the road. MUSIC: Touchpants @ Sandy’s Clam Bar, Glens Falls. So what does Phish drummer Jon Fishman do after his sold-out show at GFCC? He slides over to Sandy’s to play some more, this time with his comedy-rock side-project band. Doors open at 11:30pm. $20.

FILM/MUSIC: “The Wind” @ the Albany Public Library, Albany. Victor Sjostrom’s 1928 romantic drama with live, original soundtrack by Blacklight Lighthouse. 7pm. FREE.

TALK: SPAC Lecture Luncheon @ SPAC’s Hall of Springs, Saratoga Springs. NPR Contributing host/foreign correspondent and bestselling author Jacki Lyden will be the featured guest speaker. Continental breakfast at 9:30am; talk at 10am; followed by shopping and lunch. $75.

READING: Ava Homa @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall, Albany. The Kurdish fiction writer is author of the short story collection, “Echoes From the Other Land,” which features tales of modern Iranian women in conflict with social and cultural norms.
