MUSIC: The Cashdollar Kidz @ Daisy Baker’s, Troy. Featuring five-time Grammy Award-winning pedal steel guitar queen Cindy Cashdollar, her brother Russ Cashdollar (drums), Lustre Kings’ guitarist Mark Gamsjager and bassist Pete Toigo with special guests Chris “Sugarballs” Sprague (of Los Straitjackets) and Kevin Maul. 8pm. $10.

FILM/MUSIC: “The Adventures of Prince Achmed” @ Albany Public Library, Albany. Director Lotte Reininger’s 1926 silent movie – the oldest surviving animated feature film – will be accompanied by a live original score by Nippertown post-rock band lastdayshining. 7pm. FREE.

FILM: “Escape From Tomorrow” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. One screening only of the provocative, surrealist, nightmarish black-and-white debut by director Randy Moore, who shot the film guerilla-style in Disney World. 7pm. $9.50; $7.75 seniors; $6.75 children.

MUSIC: Zoe Obadia @ the Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield. The young alto saxophonist is still a senior in high school, but she was honored with the Outstanding Soloist award at the 2013 Essentially Ellington festival at Lincoln Center. 7pm. FREE.

DANCE: “Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty: A Gothic Romance” @ Proctors, Schenectady. With a distinctive theatrical vision, Bourne has won Tony Awards as both choreographer and director, and he puts both skill sets to good use with a transformative production of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet. The haunting new scenario is a gothic tale for all ages; the traditional tale of good vs. evil and rebirth is turned upside-down, creating a supernatural love story that features ravishing stage sets, enthralling puppetry and, yes, vampires, too. 7:30pm. $20, $30, $40, $50 & $60.
