Melissa Manchester to Perform at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Sunday [Berkshire on Stage]

The wonderful Melissa Manchester has had a long career as a singer. Though she started simply, as an original ‘Harlette,’ part of Bette Midler’s long standing trio of backing singers, she was soon out making records of her own. In 1979 Manchester scored one her biggest hits with her version of Peter Allen/Carol Bayer-Sager song, ‘Don’t Cry Out Loud.’

Grammy Award-winner and two-time Academy Award nominee legendary singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester will appear at Club Helsinki on Sunday evening October 6 at 7pm as part of the Helsinki on Broadway cabaret series presented in association with Showstoppers New York.

Manchester has a great back story, since her big break into the music industry came in 1971 via contemporaries Bette Midler and Barry Manilow.
