If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play the guitar, the Albany Public Library’s free Music Matters workshops are for you. Held in the Main Library’s auditorium, the classes are designed for teens and adults. No experience is necessary; the only requirement is a desire to make music. All sessions are free and open to the public.
Taught by Local 518 professional guitarists Tor Loney and Ben Himmelfarb, six 90-minute workshops will be held weekly at the library on Tuesday evenings beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, September 17) at 7pm.
As a special bonus, Local 518 singer-songwriter Matt Durfee will perform an acoustic set prior to each of the Music Matters sessions, beginning at 6pm. Durfee’s performances are also free and open to the public. You need not attend the guitar workshops in order to enjoy Durfee’s performances.
