Sammy Yager, the Saratoga musician behind the experimental music of Birthdays, was involved in a serious bicycle accident in July that left him hospital and in a coma.

He is slowly recovering at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center, showing signs of improvement daily, as he builds his strength. You can follow his progress online at the Babydude Blog.

Now a number of Local 518 bands and musicians are banding together to support Yager’s recovery and to raise money to alleviate the cost of his mounting medical bills. The benefit concert Sammyfest will be held at Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs at 9pm on Thursday. Admission is a $10 minimum donation.
