Comin’ Soon: New Concert Announcements

Captivating Latin pop-rocker Diego Garcia has made several Nippertown appearances since his solo album debut Laura was released in 2011. Now he’s headed back to town for a concert at WAMC-FM’s The Linda at 8pm on Friday, November 15, in support of his upcoming sophomore album, Paradise (which is slated for release in October. Tickets are $15.

They’re full band name is the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, but they’re more commonly known as the GOASTT. And if you don’t recognize either name, perhaps you know this one – Sean Lennon, who along with his bandmate and supermodel girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl, lead the GOASTT. They’ll be making a tour stop at the BSP Lounge in Kingston on Saturday, September 28. Opening the show at 9pm is former Original Sins frontman John Terlesky (aka Brother JT). Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

Cleveland’s masked industrial metal band Mushroomhead will be roaring into the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Saturday, September 28. The 7pm show will kick off with performances from One Eyed Doll, X Factor One, Ionia and the Power. Tickets are $13 in advance; $15 at the door. Also newly announced for UCH is the co-headlining tour of Hinder and Candlebox, which lands in Clifton Park on Wednesday, October 2. Support acts Devour the Day and Open Air Stereo kick off the evening at 7:30pm. Priced at $20 in advance ($23 at the door), tickets go on sale at 10am on Thursday (August 29).

There’s been no official word yet from the Van Dyck, but according to the artists’ websites, the musical action at the Schenectady venue will be heating up this autumn with upcoming concerts by the fabulous Holmes Brothers (7 & 9:30pm Friday, September 27; $18 in advance; $22 at the door), Chatham’s Queen of the Blues Rory Block (Friday, October 4) and guitarist-storyteller extraordinaire Adrian Legg (Saturday, October 26). UPDATE: In support of their new debut album Exhibitionists, LA trio Superhumanoids have been added to the line-up of the free New Music Festival at the Empire State Plaza on Saturday, September 7, joining Mayer Hawthorne, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, the Mysteios and Graham Tichy.

Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany welcomes Crystal Stilts at 8:30pm on Monday, October 7, in support of their upcoming third album, Nature Noir, slated for release next month. Sharing the bill will be Zachary Cole and a rare performance by Better Pills. Tickets are $11 in advance; $13 at the door.

Broadway star Kevin McGuire returns to Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, where he was the longtime artistic director, for a special evening of music at 8pm on September 28. Tickets are $22; $15 for students.
