The Replacements: Back in the Saddle Again…

On Sunday night (August 25), Hudson’s own Tommy Stinson strapped on his bass and stood in the spotlight alongside his old bandmate Paul Westerberg, playing their first show together in 22 years as the Replacements.

Backed by replacement Replacements drummer Josh Freese and Boston-based guitar hero Dave Minehan (of the Neighborhoods), the Replacements kicked off their three-city Riot Fest reunion at Toronto with “Takin’ a Ride.” Westerberg reportedly only forgot the lyrics to two songs – “Androgynous” and “I Will Dare” – which is pretty damn good for a ‘Mats show.

Riot Fest and the Replacements reunion lands in Chicago (where the band played their last gig in 1991) on September 13-15 before wrapping up in Denver on September 21 & 22.
