Combining music, stand-up comedy and theater, comedian Bo Burnham brings his new show, “What,” to The Egg in Albany at 8pm on Sunday, October 27. Priced at $28.50, tickets are scheduled to go on sale to the general public at 12noon on Friday (August 23). Also new at The Egg, the musical “SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody” returns for one show only at 7pm on Sunday, October 20. Priced at $39.50, tickets go on sale at 11am on Friday (August 23).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The full line-up of 20 bands was announced for the Restoration Festival at the Contemporary Artists Center at Woodside in Troy. The two-day fest will be held next month, featuring Man Man, Eastbound Jesus, Ryder & Hazel with the Dust Bowl Faeries, Wild Adriatic, Sgt. Dunbar & the Hobo Banned and lots more…

UPDATE: As we announced last week, moe. is making a two-night stand at the Palace Theatre in Albany. Now ticket prices have been announced – tickets are $35 for Monday, December 30. Tickets are $45 in advance; $50 at the door for Tuesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve). Showtime for both shows is 8pm. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Saturday (August 24).

Rapper Danny Brown, whose upcoming major-label debut album Old is slated to drop in October, has been booked as the headliner for the annual fall concert at Skidmore College’s Williamson Sports and Recreation Center in Saratoga Springs on Friday, October 4. Opening the show will be former chef, Action Bronson. That’s all the info we’ve got so far. Stay tuned for upcoming ticket info…

If hip-hop ain’t your thing, Skidmore is also playing host to jazz pianist Aaron Parks at the Zankel Music Center at 8pm on December 6. Details on this one forthcoming, too…

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The line-up of bands for next month’s free LarkFest was announced, including headliners Willie Nile and Bobby Long, as well as Local 518 faves the Charlie Watts Riots and the Last Conspirators, both of whom will be celebrating the release of new albums…

The Palace Theatre in Albany is hosting the Festival of Laughs at 8pm on Saturday, October 5. The evening of stand-up comedy will features performances by Ruperto Vanderpool, Peaches Rodriguez, Mark Viera, Sara Contreras and Smokey Suarez. Priced at $25, tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (August 23).

SOLD OUT: The concert by country star Luke Bryan with Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sunday evening (August 25) is now officially sold out – both amphitheater seating and lawn tickets. Live Nation has announced that no additional tickets will be released for the SPAC show.

New Orleans comes to downtown Albany on Thursday, September 5, when Big Sam’s Funky Nation roars into Red Square. In recent years, trombonist-vocalist Big Sam Williams has led his explosive band at the Albany Riverfront Jazz Fest and Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Fest, and now we’ll get a chance to watch them fire up their funky dance party in an intimate club setting. Adding to the funk fever for the evening, the Chronicles will open the show at 9pm.

Woodstock will also be blessed with the funky sounds of New Orleans at 8pm on Thursday, September 19, when Ivan Neville brings his band Dumpstaphunk to the Bearsville Theater. Tickets are $20, $30 & $40. Bearsville will also be hosting a salsa-funk dance party with Sabor Con Colour at 9pm on Saturday, September 7. Tickets are $25 & $35.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Seven new concerts were announced for the fall season at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, including Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt, Three Dog Night, Gordon Lightfoot, Dave Mason, the Brubeck Brothers Quartet and more… Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday (August 22).

Looking for some Halloween fun? Steve Earle & the Dukes will be taking the stage at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Thursday, October 31, in support of their latest album, The Low Highway. Tickets are priced at $28.50 and $38.50 and will go on sale on Friday (August 23).

CANCELLED: Originally scheduled to wrap up the American Roots Series at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany on Friday, December 6, the concert by Tim Eriksen & the Trio de Pumpkintown has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.

The great Merle Haggard is slated to make a tour stop at the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston at 7pm on Sunday, November 3. Tickets are $59 & $74. Also at UPAC is a solo acoustic show by Chris Cornell at 8pm on Wednesday, November 13 ($54 & $69), and the Time Jumpers with Vince Gill at 8pm on Friday, November 15 ($55 & $69). NOTE: Tickets for Elvis Costello’s solo acoustic show at UPAC on Thursday, November 14, will go on sale to the general public at 11am on Thursday (August 22).

POSTPONED: Originally scheduled for the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Saturday, September 7, the concert by Grateful Dead tribute band Dead On Live has been postponed to 9pm on Saturday, November 2. Tickets are $25.

Plants and Animals return to Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Saturday, November 9. Tickets are $15 in advance; $18 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Comedy troupe the Tenderlions are bringing their truTV “Impractical Jokers” Tour to the Palace Theatre in Albany this fall. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (August 23).
