On Saturday (August 10), the Mohawk Valley Collective has organized “Standing Strong: A River Through Time,” a full day of events, including live music, BBQ, open houses at historic locations and an antique and craft fair, on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 to support those affected by recent severe flooding in Fort Plain and along the Otsquago Creek.

From 9am-5pm, the day-long fest will take place at two locations: Unity Hall in Fort Plain and West Hill School in Canajoharie. Maps and additional information will be available at the new Tourist Information Center and the Arkell Museum in downtown Canajoharie, as well as Haslett Park and Unity Hall in Fort Plain.

Activities will include:
– Ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Tourist Information Center in downtown Canajoharie
– Open houses at historic and tourist sites in the Mohawk Valley
– Special tours and exhibits
– A raffle of more than $1,500 in items from area businesses
– A geocaching / scavenger hunt with prizes
– Antique and craft fair
– Live musical performances by Emeralds of July, the Dependents, Spike & the Boys, Rumpus, Midnight Drive and more
– Barbecue dinners in the heart of both Fort Plain and Canajoharie
