FESTIVAL: McDonald’s African American Family Day @ Empire State Plaza, Albany. It’s the annual celebration of the traditions of the African American community through music, art and dance featuring a variety of family-oriented activities. Headliners include Stephanie Mills (5:30pm) and disco-funk band Heatwave (4:15pm). Numerous local choirs, dance groups, and local talent contest winners will also perform. 12noon. FREE.
THEATER: “Winning the Lottery” @ the Fort Salem Theater, Salem. The world premiere of a new musical by Al Budde and Jay Kerr about three women who work together in an office, continually play the same lottery numbers, and one lucky day win 44-million dollars.
