MUSIC: Trapper Schoepp & the Shades @ the Half Moon, Hudson. The hot, up-and-comin’ Milwaukee-based rock ‘n’ roll band has been touring with the Wallflowers and the Old 97′s in support of their new album Run, Engine, Run on SideOneDummy Records, but they’ll make a rare small-club appearance in Hudson. FESTIVAL/MUSIC: The Old Songs Festival @ Altamont Fairgrounds, Altamont. It’s Day One of the three-day fest, featuring Joe Jencks, Hanneke Cassel, Maggie Boyle & Paul Downes, the Matt Munisteri Trio, Kapriol’!, Archie Fisher, Sheesham & Lotus & Son, Genticorum. MUSIC: Preservation Hall Jazz Band @ Clark Art Institute, Williamstown. The classic New Orleans traditional jazz band leaves the French Quarter and lands in Williamstown, making good after their scheduled February concert was snowed out. The band’s new album, That’s It, is slated for release next month, co-produced by My Morning Jacket’s Jim James. 8pm. $45.

MUSIC: Chic Gamine @ Red Square, Albany. The fab quartet of gals from Canada puts a decidedly soulful, 21st century spin on the harmony-laden girl-group sound. Featuring MaryLeigh Roohan (9pm), Chic Gamine (10:15pm) and Olivia Quillio (11:30pm). 9pm. $12.
