MUSIC: Dave Maswick & Joel Brown @ the Parting Glass, Saratoga Springs. It’s a dual CD release celebration featuring two of the north country’s finest teaming up for a joint performance. Brown celebrates the release of his new CD, Places (produced by Maswick), while Maswick launches his new solo disc The News From Here, which also features Brown. They’ll be joined by a core band that includes Joel’s son Jason Brown on bass, as well as Steve Candlen, Don Young, Hank Soto and several additional special guests. 3pm. FREE. More info here…

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival @ Croton Point Park, Croton-On-Hudson. Day Two of the fest features Kris Kristofferson, Son Volt, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Jill Sobule, Keller Williams & the Travelin McCourys, Tift Merritt, Floodwood, the Klezmatics and lots more. MUSIC: Jonathan Richman @ Colony Cafe, Woodstock. The singer-songwriter-guitarist and founder of the Modern Lovers just keeps rolling along in his own unique way. 8pm. $15.

MUSIC: Special Creek Bluegrass Band @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The Saratoga-based traditional bluegrass band features Paul Vinsel (banjo), Bob Zink (bass) and Bill Healy (guitar & mandolin) with special guest Nick Barr (fiddle & mandolin). 7pm. $17.

MUSIC: Sun Mountain Fiddler Band @ the Lion’s Den, Stockbridge. Dick Solberg and his eclectic combo in support of their latest album, You Can’t Keep a Good Dick Down. 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC: The 11th Annual Albany Father’s Day Concert @ Riverfront Park, Albany. A salute to the U.S. Armed Forces and a celebration of both the United States Army’s 238th birthday and the Watervliet Arsenal’s 200th year of operation, the concert features the USO Liberty Bells and the 94th Army Band. Fireworks follow. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Jazz Vespers @ the First Reformed Church of Schenectady, Schenectady. Featuring Tom D’Andrea (drums), Bill Delaney (bass) and Peg Delaney (piano). 5pm.

FILM: “The Place Beyond the Pines” @ Saratoga Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. Director Derek Cianfrance filmed in Schenectady, examining the unexpected consequences of stunt rider Luke Glanton’s (Ryan Gosling) fateful decision to commit a crime to support his child, an incident that puts him in the crosshairs of eager young cop Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper). 7:30pm. $7; $5 for students.
