For lots of folks, the post-Albany Tulip Fest place to be was downtown at the Hollow Bar + Kitchen (formerly the Bayou Cafe), where LA-based electro-popsters Capital Cities headlined in the NYS capital city. Led by founders/frontmen Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian – two Los Angeles-based jingle writers who met on Craigslist – the Cities wowed the WEQX-sponsored bash with a sneak preview of their debut album, In a Tidal Wave of Mystery.

Also on the bill were Gold Fields and Lovelife.

NOTE: Capital Cities’ In a Tidal Wave of Mystery was released earlier this week, and the band will be making their national television debut tonight (Thursday, June 6) on “Conan” at 11pm on cable channel TBS.
