MUSIC: The Dave Matthews Band @ SPAC, Saratoga Springs. SPAC’s pop concert season starts off with a bang – the annual return of DMB kicking off their two-night stand. With New Orleans funkateers Galactic. 7pm. Lawn only. Also at 8pm on Sunday.

MUSIC: Aaron Neville @ MASS MoCA’s Hunter Center, North Adams. The heavenly voice of the Neville Brothers fills MASS MoCA with doo-wop classics from his new album and DVD My True Story (co-produced by Keith Richards and Don Was) as well as faves from his vast catalog. 8pm. $34, $40, $49 & $75. DANCE: Paul Taylor Dance Company @ the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington. The renowned modern dance company will perform the New England premiere of Mr. Taylor’s Perpetual Dawn, which depicts young people experiencing the awakening of love. Also Last Look and Cascade. 8pm. $10-$75. Also at 3 & 7pm on Sunday.

MUSIC: Wilson “Chembo” Corniel’s Afro Blue Monk @ Union College’s Emerson Auditorium, Schenectady. A musical tribute to Thelonious Monk and Mongo Santamaria, two pioneers who helped shape the music of jazz and Latin jazz. 8pm. $15; seniors $10.

MUSIC: The Midnight Society @ Red Square, Albany. Led by Deidra Knauth (keyboard, vocals) and Jim DeSario (guitar, vocals), the Local 518 folk-rockers celebrate the release of their debut studio album Footprints. With the Lucky Jukebox Brigade, Accents and Neversink. 8pm. $7.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: GottaGetGon @ the Saratoga County Fairgrounds, Ballston Spa. It’s Day Two featuring Nova Scotia-based singer-songwriter Dave Gunning, traditional folksingers Holdstock & Bierl, the infectious Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys, Sally Spring with Ted Lyons and more… Music officially kicks off at 10:25am. With Tony Lee Thomas, the Taconic Marching Band and the Neighborhood Boys. All proceeds benefit the local Here at Home Committee, an organization that helps welcome soldiers home from service, including, most recently, fallen soldier Spec.
