MUSIC: Dan Johnson & the Expert Sidemen @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. It’s a CD release party for the band’s sophomore album Bound for Abiquiu. With Driftwood, Black Fox River Project and Grassroots Rebels. 8pm.

FILM/FUNDRAISER: Youth FX Showcase @ the Madison Theater, Albany. For one night only, Albany’s award-winning Youth FX teen filmmaking program premiers eight original short documentary and narrative films. Followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. 7 & 9pm. $8 with all proceeds going to the 2013 Youth FX summer program.

MUSIC: Pete Donnelly @ the Spring Street Gallery, Saratoga Springs. The Figgs’ bassist steps out in support of his solo album, When You Come Home. 8pm. Sliding scale $6-$10.

MUSIC: Portugal. The Man @ the Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Albany. You can’t buy tickets for this acoustic show; the only way to get in is to win tickets from WEQX-FM. 7pm.
