The Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs is about to launch its 2013 season with a two-night stand by the old, reliable Dave Matthews Band on Saturday and Sunday (May 25 & 26).
But before the amphitheater starts rockin’, the first SPAC concert of the new year will actually take place at 7pm on Friday (May 24) when the fourth annual SPAC Battle of the Bands takes over the Spa Little Theater.
It’s the final round of the competition, and 10 bands will each have 10 minutes to perform their best original songs. At the end of the night, two winning bands – the People’s Choice (as voted on by the members of the audience) and the Judges’ Choice (as selected by a panel of judges) – will be walking away with some big prizes.
The bands competing for the top honors are:
Ghosts on 33rd
A Little More Us
The Lucky Jukebox Brigade
The Margo Macero Project UPDATE: Will not perform
Rites of Ash
GO HERE to see a schedule of times when each of the bands will be performing.
Wood-fired pizza, gourmet sliders and beer will be available before and during the competition in the outdoor beer garden.
Come on down and cheer on your favorites… Tickets for the SPAC Battle of the Bands are $20, which also includes admission to the after party at Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs, featuring performances by North & South Dakotas, VONTUS and more.
