MUSIC: Breakaway @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Rock ‘n’ blues band led by vocalist-guitarists Howie Haber and Lou Carrollo. 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Butterfield Brass Band @ Union College’s Hull Plaza, Schenectady. Jari Villanueva directs the 15-piece ensemble made up of Union students and faculty, as well as area pro players, named in honor of General Daniel Butterfield (Union College Class of 1849), who wrote the bugle call “Taps” in 1862. 5pm. FILM: “The Wild Bunch” @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. Sam Peckinpah’s classic 1969 western. 1:30, 4:30 & 7:30pm. $5.

TALK: K. Eric Drexler @ UAlbany Campus Center’s Assembly Hall, Albany. A talk by the founding father of nanotechnology. 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Eric Erickson @ the Lion’s Den at the Red Lion Inn, Stockbridge. Classic folk from the ’70s and originals. 8pm. FREE.

FILM: ‚ÄúChasing Ice” @ Crandall Public Library, Glens Falls. A documentary by National Geographic photographer James Balog showing the effects of climate change through time-lapse filming of our slowly disappearing glaciers. With guest speaker John Cerveny, an expert on climate change. 6:30pm. FREE.
