FILM/MUSIC: “The Films of Laurie Anderson” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. Anderson will be on hand to lead us through two separate screening programs of films and videos. The 8pm presentation will be capped off with a screening of a silent film to which Anderson and Pauline Oliveros play together. 5 & 8pm. $6.

FILM/DISCUSSION: “Taking a Chance On God” @ the Sanctuary for Independent Media, Troy. Filmmaker Brendan Fay screens his new documentary on the life of gay pioneer priest John McNeill. 7pm. $10; student/low income $5.

THEATER: “Spank! The Fifty Shades Parody” @ The Egg, Albany. A new musical comedy that brings all the naughty fun of the best-selling book to life. 8pm. $29.50 & $39.50. Also at 8pm on Friday. UPDATE: The performances tonight and Friday are both officially sold out.

COMEDY/MUSIC: Stephen Lynch @ The Egg, Albany. Is it musically based comedy? Or comic music? 8pm. $30.

MUSIC: Dan Berggren @ Crandall Public Library, Glens Falls. The Folklife Center is hosting a release party for Berrgren’s new CD Tongues in Trees and Carol Gregson’s new book “Wet Socks. 7pm.

MUSIC: David Grover @ the Lion’s Den at the Red Lion Inn, Stockbridge. The Berkshires’ legendary troubadour. 8pm. FREE.
