Through the passionate eyes of the great American painter Mark Rothko, John Logan’s Tony Award-winning drama examines the tug of war between the worlds of art and commerce. READING/FUNDRAISER: “Inside Out: Poems and Music from Prison” @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Cara Benson and Gordon Boyd co-host the third annual fundraiser for the Mt. McGregor Organ and Arts Fund. Featuring readings from Derek Anderson and Se├ín Dalpiaz, video footage of current participants from inside the prison and a panel discussion with the poets and Judith Brink of Prison Action Network. Proceeds benefit the weekly poetry class and other arts programming. 7pm. Suggested donation $25.

FILM: “Girl Rising” @ Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins directed this inspiring and groundbreaking documentary that tells the stories of nine extraordinary girls from nine countries. One screening only. 7pm. $10.

READING: “Read My Lipstick” @ Y Bar, Pittsfield. Leigh Strimbeck’s one-woman work-in-progress is full of stories and characters chockfull of wit, passion and conviction. Alternately funny and moving. 8pm. FREE.
