Nick Lowe will perform at Helsinki Hudson on August 21

Club Helsinki in Hudson has added a number of new shows to its concert calendar, including Professor Louie & the Crowmatix at 8pm on Thursday, April 25 ($10); Broadway singer, actress and three-time Tony nominee Judy Kuhn at 7pm on Sunday, May 26 ($TBA); Aoife O’Donovan at 8pm on Wednesday, June 12 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door); Lake Street Dive at 9pm on Saturday, July 6 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door); and the one and only Nick Lowe at 8pm on Wednesday, August 21 ($TBA).

Veteran Australian singer-songwriter Paul Kelly is slated to make a tour stop at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Wednesday, May 29. Kelly is touring in support of his new, 11-song album Spring and Fall – his 19th studio album and first collection of new material in five years. Advance tickets are $17.

Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs has added a handful of new A-list shows to their calendar including the electrifying Slide Brothers at 9:30pm on Friday, May 17 ($8 in advance; $10 at the door); a solo acoustic show by New Orleans music great Anders Osborne at 9:30pm on Friday, May 31 ($15 in advance; $17 at the door); the riotous Travis Chandler Philharmonic on Friday, June 21 ($TBA); and Assembly of Dust at 9:30pm on Saturday, June 22 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door).

Guitarist Lionel Loueke leads the Lionel Loueke Trio – also featuring bassist Michael Olatuja and drummer John Davis – in a free concert at Williams College’s Chapin Hall in Williamstown on Friday, April 26. The Williams Jazz Ensemble kick off the evening’s festivities at 8pm joined by special guest Loueke.

Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany is slated to play host to the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion at 8pm on Tuesday, July 9. Advance tickets are $20.

The Bearsville Theater will be hosting “Soundout: A Bob Dylan Birthday Celebration” hosted by Happy Traum and Amy Helm at 8pm on Sunday, May 26. Among those already scheduled to perform are Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, Jay Collins, Jerry Marotta, Tracy Bonham, A.C. Newman, Connor Kennedy, Tim Moore, Doug Yoel, Marco Benevento and Dave Driewitz. Tickets are $25, $40 & $100 for the benefit concert, with proceeds going directly to the Woodstock Day School. Other new shows on the Bearsville calendar include the Christine Spero Group’s “Spero Plays Nyro: A Celebration of the Music of Laura Nyro” at 9pm on Friday, May 17 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door); the Willi Amrod Band at 9pm on Saturday, May 25 ($20); Salted Bones at 9pm on Friday, May 31 ($15); the Danny Kalb Trio at 9pm on Saturday, June 8 ($20); and Jim McCarty, John Hawken & Jann Klose at 9pm on Friday, June 14 ($30).

Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park welcomes All That Remains at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 1. Priced at $17, advance tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday (April 19).

Rockabilly faves Big Sandy & the Fly-Rite Boys are returning to the Ale House in Troy at 8pm on Tuesday, May 7.

In addition to his previously announced concert at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany on Friday, May 24, Pete Donnelly of the Figgs (and formerly of NRBQ) will play a solo acoustic show at the Spring Street Gallery in Saratoga Springs at 8pm on Thursday, May 23. Ticket prices are $6-$10.

Barrington Stage Co. in Pittsfield has announced its cabaret concert series which includes Paul Green & the Jewish Jazz Project on Sunday & Monday, June 30 & July 1 ($25); Linda Lavin on Monday, July 8 ($35, $45 & $75); sisters Liz Callaway & Ann Hampton Callaway on Sunday & Monday, July 14-15 ($45); Amy Oestreicher on Tuesday, July 16 ($20); Joe Iconis & Family on Saturday & Sunday, July 27-28 ($25); Michele Brourman with Heather McRae on Saturday & Sunday, September 21-22 ($25).

The Capital Region Blues Network is presenting the Alexis P. Suter Blues Band at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Friday, June 21.

UPDATE: Grammy Award-winning “American Idol” winner Fantasia added to the bill for Andrea Bocelli’s concert at the Times Union Center on Thursday, June 13.

CANCELLED: The band Your Demise has apparently met its own demise. The British hardcore band is calling it quits and, according to the Upstate Concert Hall website, their show which was originally slated for UCH on Monday, June 17, has been cancelled. Refunds are available at the place of purchase.

SOLD OUT: The concert by Opeth with Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson and Katatonia at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Sunday, April 28 is now officially sold out.

UPDATE: Sean Rowe has been added to the bill for the line-up of the Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA on Saturday, June 22.

SOLD OUT: The Todd Rundgren concert at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Sunday, May 5 is now officially sold out. However, tickets for Rundgren’s Bearsville show at 8pm on Monday, May 6 are still available.
