The Fort Salem Theater in Fort Salem has announced its spring season of cabaret shows, “They Write the Songs: A Springtime Salute to Great Songwriters,” and it all kicks off on Saturday night (April 6) with the old-school country music concert by the Spurs USA.

Saturday (April 6)
The Spurs USA, the Berkshires country-western band, returns to Fort Salem with “The Many Faces of Classic Country Western Music,” featuring the music of Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson and a cadre of country’s greatest songwriters. 7:30pm coffee and dessert; 8pm music. $25 (includes $6 credit for refreshments).

Saturday, April 13
Greenwich singer-songwriter Bob Warren and his six-piece band offer a preview of his upcoming new CD, The Poet in Me. With bassist Tony Markellis, drummer Danny Whelchel, guitarist Don Warren, keyboardist Matt Donnelly, cellist Monica Wilson-Roach and vocalist Joy MacKenzie. 7:30pm coffee and dessert; 8pm music. $25 (includes $6 credit for refreshments).

Saturday, April 20
Four Broadway performers in a new musical revue, “Echoing Back: The Songs of Johnny Mercer,” from “Come Rain or Come Shine” to “Moon River.” Created and directed by Broadway performer Karin Baker, with arrangements by musical director David Hancock Turner. 7:30pm coffee and dessert; 8pm music. $25 (includes $6 credit for refreshments).

Saturday, April 27
“Beautiful Girls: Celebrating Sondheim’s Women” features three Fort faves – soap opera performer Kathleen Devine, Broadway singer Florence Hayle and recording artist Lynne Kerr – in a musical revue that ranges from “I Feel Pretty” to “Send in the Clowns.” 7:30pm coffee and dessert; 8pm music. $25 (includes $6 credit for refreshments).
