After honing his chops and earning serious road-dog status with electro-rockers the Brothers Past, Tom Hamilton ventured off on his own, forming the American Babies, a like-minded collective of a band with a more organic Americana sound. With a revolving line-up of musicians, Hamilton and American Babies have released a pair of acclaimed albums – their 2008 self-titled debut and 2011’s Flawed Logic – and earned rave reviews at their live performances, including high profile gigs at such prestigious festivals as Bonnaroo, SXSW and the Newport Folk Festival.
Now American Babies are rolling into Red Square in Albany on Saturday night (April 6), and in addition to Hamilton, keyboardist Adam Flicker and drummer Dave Butler, the band will also bring along special guest bassist Andrew Altman from Railroad Earth to help anchor their sound.
Meanwhile, multi-talented Railbird drummer Chris Carey will open the show with his band Rodeo Barons, who released their sparkling self-titled debut album late last year.
