Albany’s homegrown punk rock Americana band the Slaughterhouse Chorus is wrapping up their latest U.S. tour with a homecoming celebration at Valentine’s Music Hall on Saturday night (March 30). The No Tour for Old Men tour landed in six states between New York and Kansas over the course of just 10 days. The band was named the Capital Region’s Best Punk Band in Metroland’s Readers’ Poll earlier this month, and they have recently released a split single with Syracuse punk rockers Bridge Under Fire.

Meanwhile, the band has also teamed up with the like-minded Henry’s Rifle to launch the Built4BBQ record collective. The label has already released the first of three compilation albums planned for 2013, The Appetizer. The sampler album features 18 tracks from Charmboy, the Pistolwhips, Brooklyn’s the End Men, Bridge Under Fire, Maggot Brain and Linear North, as well as numerous special guests representing the best in independent music from across NYS. The Appetizer is currently available for free download in a variety of formats.

At Valentine’s on Saturday, the Slaughterhouse Chorus will be joined by their tourmates the End Men, as well as rapidly rising California garage-popsters Warm Soda (in support of their debut album Someone For You on Castle Face Records) and Local 518 faves Party Boat and the Jack Russell Terrorists. Doors open at 7:30pm on Saturday. Admission is $5.
