Well, actually, it’s not exactly a new concert, but there have been quite a few changes to a concert that was already on The Egg’s calendar.
Back in January it was announced that progressive rock keyboardist-violinist Eddie Jobson – formerly of Roxy Music, Curved Air, UK and Frank Zappa – would be playing a rare concert at The Egg in Albany.
Well, it’s no longer just an Eddie Jobson concert. Now Jobson will be joined by bassist-vocalist John Wetton, guitarist Alex Machacek and drummer Virgil Donati – and the concert has become a reunion of the prog-rock supergroup UK.
While UK has had a rather fluid line-up of musicians over the years – Bill Bruford, Allan Holdsworth, Terry Bozzio and others have been members – Jobson notes on his Facebook page that “this may be the last opportunity to see UK in any form.”
Meanwhile, the concert at The Egg – which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 – has also been pushed back a week and will now take place at 8pm on Thursday, April 25. The concert at The Egg is one of only five U.S. shows on the UK tour. Tickets are $74.50.

this is crazy news. cool to hear.
