All-Star Anti-Fracking Benefit Concert Announced for Bearsville Theater

“We Shall Not Be Moved: An Evening of Spirituals to Benefit Frack Action” is slated for the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Sunday, March 10.

Presented by WDST-FM (Radio Woodstock 100.1), the all-star evening aims to build awareness about potentially harmful fracking activities facing local residents, while simultaneously raising funds for the non-profit organization Frack Action, which is spearheading an effort to ban hydraulic fracturing in New York State. The concert will feature more than 20 local artists and musicians for an evening of performances focused on the longstanding musical tradition of spirituals.

Among the musical artists who are already confirmed to perform are Amy Helm, Bethany Yarrow, Elizabeth Mitchell & Dan Littleton, Gail Ann Dorsey, Jack DeJohnette, Jeremy Bernstein, Jerry Marotta, John Medeski, Marco Benevento, Natalie Merchant, Simi Stone and Tracy Bonham. Additional performers TBA.

In addition to musical performances, there will be a silent auction of local goods and services to help raise extra funds and further unite the community.

Doors open at 6pm; music starts at 7:30pm. Priced $25, $35, $45 & $65, tickets are scheduled to go on sale at RadioWoodstock.com at 12noon today (Tuesday, February 12).
