The line-up is set…
WCDB-FM’s 35th Birthday Bash Anniversary Festival Extravaganza takes over both floors of Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany on Friday, March 1, and the line-up of bands is finally complete.
Already announced bands sharing the upstairs stage are the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Oberhofer and Blotto. Downstairs will get rocked by Barons in the Attic, Dirty Face – and now two more newly added bands: Summer People and if Madrid.
Hailing from all over the Upstate and New York City areas, Summer People are a five-piece indie rock band that has released a split EP Do It with HotChaCha, toured with Aficionado down to SXSW, and pressed their self-released sophomore album Teamwork to vinyl. Summer People are currently in the process of mixing their third full length album Burn the Germs, due out later this year.
Binghamton-based If Madrid includes former WCDB DJ Liam Murphy and have previously graced the Valentine’s downstairs stage at last year’s 34th anniversary. They just finished recording their debut full-length album, a follow up to last year’s Funeral Porn. The new album was recorded at the WCDB studios over a three-day session last year, engineered and mixed by Barons in the Attic’s Dan Maddalone. The yet-to-be-titled album is slated for release on B3nson Records, and the band will be celebrating the CD’s release at the WCDB anniversary bash.
Tickets for the WCDB-FM 35th Birthday Bash Anniversary Festival Extravaganza are $18 in advance; $23 at the door. Available for purchase online via Brown Paper Tickets and also in person at Fuzz Record Shop in Albany (cash only; no service fee).
