2. THE FIRST CONCERT THAT I EVER SAW WAS … The Duke Ellington Jazz Orchestra @ Lincoln Auditorium in Syracuse. And I got to meet Duke after the show. I was nine years old.

3. THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT I EVER OWNED OR PLAYED WAS … a curved soprano sax

4. THE FIRST SONG THAT I EVER PERFORMED IN PUBLIC WAS … “Tuxedo Junction” (in my high school jazz band)

5. THE FIRST BAND I WAS EVER IN WAS … some wedding band run by guys from Syracuse University. I was in high school. Not sure they had a name. Just wedding gigs. You gotta start somewhere…

Ken Drumm straps on his horn and once again reunites with the rest of the guys from the Out of Control Rhythm & Blues Band to perform at The Egg in Albany in support of saxman Rick Rourke’s new solo album “The 3 Sides to Every Story.” The CD release party/benefit concert – which also features performances by such other Rourke-fueled bands as Lost Wages and the Bluz House Rockers – will be held at 2pm on Sunday (January 27). Tickets are $20, and proceeds will go directly to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
