The Egg Adds Four New Concerts

The 2013 American Roots & Branches Concert Series at The Egg in Albany continues to grow with the addition of four new performances.

Tickets for the newly announced shows are currently available to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday (January 15).

Suzzy Roche & Lucy Wainwright Roche

Friday, February 15, 7:30pm, $24
Suzzy Roche – the youngest sister of the Roches – brings her quirky lyrics and casually comedic stage presence to The Egg, teaming up with her daughter, guitarist-vocalist Lucy Wainwright Roche. Singer-songwriter-pianist Rob Morsberger opens the concert.

The Wood Brothers
Friday, February 22, 8pm, $24
The Wood Brothers – Chris (bassist with Medeski, Martin & Wood) and Oliver on guitar and vocals – perform their refined blend of blues, folk and roots music.

Al Kooper & Jimmy Vivino: Tribute to Mike Bloomfield
Saturday, March 16, 7:30pm, $34
Organist Al Kooper and guitarist Jimmy Vivino explore the music of legendary blues guitarist Mike Bloomfield – revisiting his classic work with the Butterfield Blues Band, Electric Flag and Super Session.

Son Volt
Wednesday, June 12, 7:30pm, $24
Since the 1990s, Jay Farrar – who along with Jeff Tweedy spearheaded the alt-country movement with their band Uncle Tupelo – has been leading Son Volt, a band known for its melodic songs that radiate intelligence, honesty and melancholy.
