Tanglewood in Lenox has announced a pair of new non-classical concerts for its upcoming 2013 summer season.
Veteran singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will step into the spotlight at Tanglewood’s Koussevitzky Music Shed at 7pm on Thursday, July 4. Joining him will be Sara Watkins, formerly of Nickel Creek. The concert will mark Browne’s return to Tanglewood for the first time in 15 years, having last graced the stage with Bonnie Raitt back in August of 1998. Tickets for the Fourth of July concert will be priced from $23.50 – $79.50.
Grammy award-winning jazz bassist-vocalist-composer Esperanza Spalding has also been added to the Tanglewood 2013 concert schedule, bringing her Radio Music Society Tour to Tanglewood’s Seiji Ozawa Hall at 8pm on Sunday, August 4. Spalding, who is also scheduled to perform with Joe Lovano’s band Us Five at The Egg in Albany later this month, will be making her Tanglewood debut. Tickets for Spalding’s Tanglewood concert will be priced from $20 – $99.
Tickets for both newly announced concerts are slated to go on sale to the general public at 10am on Sunday, January 27.
