The Wolf is howlin’ once again…

After a dozen years on the Capital region airwaves, morning DJ Bob Wohlfeld (aka, the Wolf) and his “Wakin’ Up With the Wolf” radio show were canned by the folks at PYX-106 last February, and his radio voice has been silent since then.

But now – nearly a year later – the Wolf and his radio show are emerging from their long radio hiatus and returning to the airwaves – this time at WDST-FM (Radio Woodstock) in Woodstock, where he’ll step up to the microphone to launch his new morning show beginning on Monday (January 7). The new “Wakin’ Up With the Wolf” show will be heard daily from 6-10am on the air and online.

“I am thrilled to be the new morning show at Radio Woodstock 100.1,” says Wohlfeld. “A legendary station in its own right, owned and run by actual humans. Humans? Can you believe that?”

Landing in Woodstock, Wohlfeld pretty much splits the difference between Capital Region and Poughkeepsie, where he helmed the morning show for WPDH-FM for a decade before heading up to Albany at PYX-106.

“Our competitors’ decisions to cut local programming costs presented us with an amazing opportunity to bring The Wolf to Radio Woodstock and back to the Hudson Valley, and we pounced on it,” says WDST president-owner Gary Chetkof. “The Wolf is a proven morning show winner, having had a wonderful and successful career in the Hudson Valley and Albany for over 20 years. He spent many of those years as the number one show in the morning. Bob is what radio is all about – great local air personalities entertaining and serving the local community.”
