SPAC 2013: New Concert Announcements

The folks at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs are once again slowly rolling out information piece-by-piece regarding their upcoming 2013 summer season of performances.

Here are the latest announcements:

Led by the NYC-based blues guitarist, the Chris Bergson Band is slated to perform at the Freihofer Saratoga Jazz Festival on Sunday, June 30. Trombonist Sarah Morrow – who dazzled fans and critics alike when she played with Dr. John at the Palace Theatre in Albany last month – has also been added to the Jazz Fest line-up for Sunday, June 30… UPDATE: Sarah Morrow’s appearance has been cancelled.

Maestro Bramwell Tovey will return to SPAC on Thursday, August 15 to conduct the Philadelphia Orchestra with special guest percussion virtuoso Colin Currie, who will be making his SPAC.

The National Ballet of Canada will present three performances of the full-length ballet “Giselle” – 8pm on Wednesday, July 17 and 2 & 8pm on Thursday, July 18.

Opera Saratoga will perform Donizetti’s tragic opera “Lucia di Lammermoor” and Gilbert & Sullivan’s classic “HMS Pinafore” during their 2013 season at SPAC’s Spa Little Theater.
