Nick Patten: Place for Rest

Local artist Erik Laffer opened the doors to his Laffer Gallery in Schuylerville, and it’s been one of the bright spots on Nippertown’s 2012 visual art scene.

The current exhibit, “Upstate Artists 2012 Group Show,” opened with a reception on Saturday, December 8, and Nick Patten’s painting “Place for Rest” was awarded the top honors for Best in Show.

Curated by Elizabeth Dubben – artist, former owner of the Amrose Sable Gallery in Albany and current Director of Exhibitions at Saratoga Arts in Saratoga – the “Upstate Artists” exhibition showcases work by more than 20 local artists, including Ann Francey, Charles Bremer, Cheryl Horning, Chris DeMarco, David Aimone, Deborah Zlotsky, Donna Whiting Orlyk, Jenny Hutchinson, Jim Flosdorf, John Hampshire, Jon Gernon, Jon Segan, Laura Provo-Parker, Mary Ellen Riell, Matt Horner, Peter Leue, Randi Kish, Robert Gullie, Russell Serrianne, Sandra Miller and Terry Conrad.

The exhibit remains on view through Sunday, January 20.
