12/10/12: Today’s Tips: Monday

MUSIC: Judy Collins @ the Wood Theater, Glens Falls. When she played the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall last week, she didn’t sing any Christmas songs – well, OK, a few a cappella snippets – or Leonard Cohen’s “Suzanne,” either. But what she did sing was mighty fine. With Rachael Sage opening the show. 7:30pm. $68.50.

MUSIC: Mannheim Steamroller @ Proctors, Schenectady. Expect lots of Christmas music because Mannheim Steamroller is one of the all-time best-selling holiday music artists. But did you know that the man behind the Steamroller is Chip Davis, the same guy who gave us that classic CB radio novelty hit, “Convoy”? 8pm. $20, $30, $45, $60 & $70.

PARTICIPATORY MUSIC: Ukulele Night @ Moon & River Cafe, Schenectady. Ron Gordon leads the monthly uke-a-thon gathering. You don’t have to play to have fun tonight, but it helps… 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Erin Harkes & Blaze @ McGeary’s Pub, Albany. 7:30pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Hallow Dog @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Woodstock-based Americana band led by John Holt. 8pm. FREE.
