CANCELLED: Steve Martin @ Tanglewood

Just last week the folks at Tanglewood announced that the Lenox amphitheater would kick off its 2013 season with one of the most promising concerts of the upcoming summer – a June 23 performance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra featuring comedian-actor-writer-turned-banjo-player Steve Martin with the Steep Canyon Rangers and Edie Brickell.

Unfortunately, it was announced on Monday (December 3) that Steve Martin, the Steep Canyon Rangers and Edie Brickell have all cancelled their appearances due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The Boston Pops concert is still expected to go on, but the date and the guest artists have yet to be determined.

Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers had previously performed at Tanglewood in 2009, when they were guests on the live performance of “A Prairie Home Companion” with Garrison Keillor.
