The anti-fracking documentary film “Dear Governor Cuomo” will get its Albany premiere at a one-night-only screening The Linda at 7:30pm on Friday (December 7).

The movie was filmed at “New Yorkers Against Fracking” at The Egg in Albany back in May, an event featuring a unique coalition of musicians, scientists, actors and activists who gathered for a call-to-arms against fracking with an all-star rally and concert. The movie’s title, “Dear Governor Cuomo,” refers to an open letter to Cuomo, read by actor Mark Ruffalo, asking the politician to maintain the state’s moratorium on fracking.

Co-hosted by actors Ruffalo and Melissa Leo, the evening featured performances by Natalie Merchant, Joan Osborne, Dan Zanes, the Horse Flies, Medeski Martin & Wood, the Felice Brothers, John Sebastian, Carl Hancock Rux, Ida, Citizen Cope, Marc Anthony Thompson, Meshell Ndegeocello, Toshi Reagon and many others.

Following the film screening on Friday, WAMC-FM president Alan Chartock will conduct a panel discussion featuring the film’s director Jon Bowermaster and musical director Natalie Merchant.

Tickets for the evening are $10.
