Review and video by Timothy Reidy
I had a nice evening in Cohoes last Saturday night. After I finished painting a table at More Bread & Jam, I headed across the street to the Foundry for the intriguing double-bill of Rosary Beard and Katie Haverly.
Seeing Rosary Beard on the bill looked promising, and the acoustic guitar duo of Matthew Carefully and Hunter Sagehorn delivered a performance that almost burned the house down. In front of a well-behaved crowd (and dog), Rosary Beard played a mix of their classics and plenty of new material.
Katie Haverly is based in Arizona, but has roots right here in the Capital Region. This evening she performed with local talent Eric Margan. She played guitar and keyboards with Eric on bass and flute. They sounded great together after just one day’s worth of practice. The highlight of the show was a beautiful rendition of the song “Ideas.”
This was another successful show for the Foundry, which continues to come up with great shows in a cozy setting.
