The fifth annual Albany Comic Con – the premier comic book and collectibles show in the Capital Region – takes over the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road in Albany from 10am-4pm on Sunday (November 11). Admission is $5.
20 exhibitors and vendors will host display tables at the convention, and more than 40 comic book artists and writers will be on hand, as well. The convention will also feature a costume contest and several panel discussions with professionals, covering such topics as “The Art of Inking,” “Writing Fantasy 101” and “Comics to Movies.”
In addition, the convention will host a silent auction of original comic book artwork to benefit the Capital District Ronald McDonald House Charities. Local comic book professionals – including Joe Sinnott, Lee Moder, Paul Abrams, Fred Hembeck, Tom Raney, Mark McKenna and many others – have donated original sketches, which will be up for bidding from 10am-3pm.
There is no admission charge to enter the silent auction. Admission to the rest of Albany Comic Con is $5.
