Lost Radio Rounders come by their name honestly, as their songs conjure up the bygone days when families would gather around the big ole radio in the parlor to listen to the music of the day – the Grand Ole Opry, the Louisiana Hayride or the King Biscuit Hour.
The acoustic duo of Tom Lindsay and Michael Eck has a grand passion for the historic American music of yesteryear, and that love comes through loud and clear in the songs they sing – both time-honored favorites and nearly forgotten gems.
With their new album, Heaven’s Radio, they’ve dipped into the vast catalog of Carter Family gospel songs, including “No Depression,” “On the Rock Where Moses Stood,” “Gospel Ship” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” just to name a few.
Lost Radio Rounders & Friends will celebrate the release of “Heaven’s Radio” with a concert at the Steamer No. 10 Theatre in Albany at 8pm on Friday (October 19). The friends will include M.R. Poulopoulos (of Palatypus), Kim Kilby (ex-Tern Rounders) and Ryan Dunham (Red Haired Strangers), as well as Bob Ristau and Mat Kane (both of Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys). Tix are $13 in advance; $15 at the door.
BUT WAIT… we’re giving away a pair of FREE TIX for Friday’s concert to a lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winner will be selected at random and notified on Friday. Good luck!
