In what has become one of the city’s annual traditions, North Adams artists will open their studios on Oct 13 and 14, allowing the public an intimate look at the artistic process. This free event boasts over 20 galleries and studios open to the public. Visitors can expect to see visual art of all kinds, in addition to artistic demos held throughout the weekend. At MCLA Gallery 51 will feature artist Fay O’Meara in residence as well as a free experimental animation class with Dina Noto.
The Open Studios map can be viewed here or can be picked up at the Eclipse Mill (243 Union St) and Gallery 51 (51 Main St). There’s a free shuttle bus to help you get around, and you can get a coupon for free admission to MASS MoCA, where the cartographic wonderland of Jerry’s Map closes on Sunday.
