And that’s just a few of the chowder variations that you can sample for yourself on Sunday (October 7), when the sixth annual Troy ChowderFest takes over Riverfront Park in Troy. More than a dozen Nippertown restaurants will be serving up something special, chowder-wise, so bring a hearty appetite.

Here’s how it works:
Each ticket that you buy for $1 entitles you to one cup of chowder, and, of course, you can buy as many tasting tickets as you like. Then vote for your favorite chowder and help crown the People’s Choice winner in the ChowderFest competition.

And in addition to some good eating, there will be live music throughout the day as well. And naturally, the Standard Clams will get their moment on the bandstand at the Chowderfest…

Here’s the schedule of events and performances for Troy ChowderFest 2012:

10am: Festival begins
11am: Rich Ortiz
12noon: Official Judges’ Tasting
1pm: The Standard Clams
2:30pm: The Hi-Flyers
