From NRBQ’s Facebook page:
‘I knew that Pete was a very busy guy when I first hired him five years ago,’ says Terry Adams. ‘There’s just not enough of him to go around! What he brought to the band is unique and brilliant and we’ll always love him. His presence has meant so much to me, he will really be missed.’
Pete says, ‘I have had the time of my life playing with NRBQ. I will miss these guys terribly. My heart has always been with this band, always will be. I am so lucky and honored to have been a part of it.’
Playing the bass for NRBQ will be Casey McDonough from Chicago. Casey’s a great musician who the band has known for several years now.”
Donnelly will still be pretty busy, having released his debut solo album, “When You Come Home,” earlier this year. And, of course, he will continue playing in the Figgs, who released their 2-CD set, “The Day Gravity Stopped” in February and celebrated their 25th anniversary together just last month with homecoming gigs at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany and Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs. Look for Pete and the Figgs to be returning to the spotlight at Valentine’s Music Hall for their annual oh-so-special holiday show at 9pm on Friday, December 21.
Best of luck to both Pete and NRBQ…
