MUSIC: Ramblin Jug Stompers @ Brunswick Barbecue & Brew, Brunswick. 78RPM music for the 21st century… 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Tom Harrell @ the First Unitarian Society of Schenectady’s Whisperdome, Schenectady. One of the greatest lyrical trumpeters of the past quarter century, Harrell and his band kick off the fall season of concerts for A Place for Jazz. 7:30pm. $15; students $7; and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. MUSIC: Doc Severinsen & the San Miguel 5 @ the College of St. Rose’s Massry Center, Albany. The trumpeter and former “Tonight Show” bandleader plays a program of classical Spanish music with a jazz flair, both Latino and American ballads, plus some great movie music and Gypsy jazz. 7:30pm. $30; VIP $75 (includes pre-concert reception at 5:30pm).

MUSIC: The Catbirds @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Chandler Travis’ garage-rockin’ four-piece fires up the distorted guitars and the big-wallop drums in celebration of the release of the their debut full-lengther, “Catbirds Say Yeah.” With the band Cathy, led by Jeremy Willis, who just happens to be the nephew of Mr. Travis. 9pm. $10. MUSIC: Amy Collins @ McIntyre’s Pub, Watervliet. The singer-songwriter showcases selections from her recent debut album, “The Hour of the Wolf.” 7pm.
