September 6th, 2012, 12:00 pm by Greg

As you’ve probably heard, the third annual Restoration Festival takes over the former Saint Joseph’s Church in Albany this weekend. The three-day fest kicks off on Friday evening (September 7) with Better Pills, Common Prayer and the eagerly anticipated reunion of the Kamikaze Hearts.

Saturday’s line-up features Barons in the Attic, Careers, Dryer, GoldTooth, Hop Along, Sgt. Dunbar & the Hobo Banned, Mount Eerie and Sharon Van Etten (with her full band).

Post continues below...

Sunday’s line-up features Swamp Baby, Ramblin Jug Stompers, Brian Dewan, Giles Bennett & the Petrified Woods, the Loom, the Parlor and Willy Mason.

For a full schedule of performance times, go here.

Advance single-day tix for Friday and Sunday are $20; $25 at the door. Advance single-day tix for Saturday are $30; $40 at the door. Or you can snag an advance all-fest three-day pass for $40 if you purchase it today (Thursday, September 6). All-fest tix will be $50 at the door. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

BUT WAIT… Courtesy of Ramblin Jug Stompers (who are slated to play at 2:15pm on Sunday), we’re giving away a pair of FREE ALL-FEST THREE-DAY TIX to a lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below telling us who you’d most like to see play at next year’s Rest Fest. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winners will be selected at random and notified on Friday. Good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.

Actually, there are TWO bands I’d like to see: our own Museum Guards & Syracuse based Dead Rose Band. The former are real nice kids w/good solid sound. The latter , older (Andy Godlewski, Bassist + leader must be 25 now) harder edged sound but also solid musicians.
