NYS Writers Institute’s 2012 Schedule of Films

The New York State Writers Institute has announced the schedule of films for its Fall Classic Film Series, which takes place at UAlbany’s Page Hall on the college’s downtown campus.

All films will be screened at 7:30pm on Fridays.

“Lonesome”
Directed by Paul Fejos (1928)
Silent with sound elements and live accompaniment by Mike Schiffer
With “The Electric House” (1922) starring Buster Keaton

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28
“Kinyarwanda”
Written and directed by Alrick Brown (2011)
In English and Kinyarwanda with English subtitles
With a Q&A with the film’s producer Darren Dean and lead actress Hadidja Zaninka

“Avalon”
Directed by Mamoru Oshii (2001)
In Polish with English subtitles
