The annual Capital District Scottish Games took over the Altamont Fairgrounds in Altamont last weekend, and there was plenty going on – everything from the traditional caber toss to the highland dance competition, from the Celtic Canine Capers to the Northeastern United States Pipe Band Championship.

Saturday featured the men’s pro and heavyweight amateur competition. here, a competitor throws the stone for distance. These usually weigh around 17 pounds.
