Albany’s own Aficionado is pumping out a new single next month. Slated for release on Tuesday, September 25 on No Sleep Records, the seven-inch slab o’ vinyl will feature two songs – “Empty” and “The Slack.”

Fortunately, if you just can’t wait that long, you can preview “Empty” right now, courtesy of Filter Magazine.

In support of the new single, Aficionado will be hitting the road from a three-week cross-country tour, co-headlined with label-mates Mixtapes, beginning on September 25.

But before they head out of town, they’ll be throwing a record release party at the Fuze Box in Albany on Saturday, September 22. Sharing the bill will be Babe City, Lysergic Shores and Bad Local. The music is scheduled to kick off at 8pm, and admission is $7.

In the meantime, you might want to keep you eyes peeled for special Aficionado flyers around town – places like Fuzz Records, Tierra Coffee Roasters, Hudson River Coffee House and DP Dough, for example – which entitle you to a free copy of the record when you hand it in at the door on the night of the show.
